Celebrate Christmas in Globe 2018

Festival of Lights

On December 18th (a Sunday) visitors walk amid 1,600 flickering luminarias at the Besh Ba Gowah Archaeological Park. Admission is free to this annual event, which includes cultural performers from the nearby San Carlos Apache reservation. Visitors are invited to warm up around the bonfire at the center of the historic pueblo ruins; hot cider, coffee, tea and cookies will be served as you wander the trails and enjoy the peaceful holiday atmosphere.

Towards sunset, drive over to Besh Ba Gowah. Staff and volunteers begin lighting the 1,600 luminarias at 5 p.m., entertainment begins around 5:30. The park closes at 8:30, and regular $5 adult admission is waived during this event.

Weather permitting, all performances will be in the central plaza lit (and warmed!) by a bonfire. For more information call Besh Ba Gowah at 928.425.0320.

Christmas Light Parade

The Globe Downtown Association is pleased to partner with the City of Globe to bring you the Annual Christmas Light Parade.
This December event, will have the theme of “The Music of Christmas.” Think about your very favorite Christmas song and bring it to life in lights! The parade will begin at dusk, and will have a new partner route this year, stretching from the TeePee by Cottonwood, all the way straight down to Yuma street by the train trestle.

Join the Globe Downtown Association for your parade beginning, and end with the assistance from the City of Globe, City of Globe Public Works Dept and the City of Globe Police Department. This will be an amazing time together in our Globe historic district.

Come early to visit our downtown merchants, to enjoy hot coffee, cocoa, fudge & more. Come play at the Depot for the annual “Read On Express” event, with so much fun packed in for the little ones. Watch and/or compete in the annual Broad Street Beard Battle, listen to Carolers, enjoy the amazing musical talents on the CVCA bandstand, and wait to see Santa himself ride in his very favorite Globe vintage firetruck. The parade will begin just after dusk (6pm-ish). Dress in your warmest snugglies, and come out to all the rain or shine fun. See you in December!

For more information, contact parade chair Willy Thomas 928-200-5646 [email protected], the CVCA desk at 928-425-0884, 928-425-8111, or text/call GDA Mgr Molly Cornwell 480-345-7477. We look forward to seeing you! It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
