Boyce Thompson Arboretum

Arizona and the Globe area is so stunning, sometimes you wish you could just pack a lot of its beauty into one setting—but the Boyce Thompson Arboretum has done that for you! You’ll find it on the Historic Old West Highway, and it demands at least one full day to explore all the native Sonoran desert flora and fauna. You’ll find a variety of plants from desert and dry land habitats. There are plenty of nature trails, or you can opt for a guided tour.

Weekend walks are free for those with an AZ State Parks Pass or are included in the $10 admission fee. Final visitors are admitted at 2pm during the summer to ensure at least one full hour in the Arboretum. Photography classes are available with a number of nearby partnering galleries to help you capture the best shots.

A Family Affair

Dogs on leash are allowed at the Arboretum, and a number of locals and travelers have their wedding celebrations in the gardens. Just five minutes away from the nearby town of Superior, hosting a special event at the lovely gardens is a fantastic way to enjoy the beauty of the region on your special day.

There are picnic areas, too, so pack a lunch from a local restaurant or deli and take advantage of a full day at the Arboretum on your next visit!
