Attractions that are also available in a mining town

A globe-shaped chunk of silver found in the townsite area in the 1800s is said to have inspired the name Globe. Globe, Arizona, is located about an hour and a half east of the Phoenix metro area. The town’s founding in the 1870s, its mining era in the early 1900s and its present state as an outstanding community along Arizona’s Salt River Canyon Scenic Route.

La Luz Del Dia Mexican restaurant

A walk down Broad Street, the major thoroughfare, will lead you past many vintage establishments, including La Luz Del Dia Mexican restaurant, which has a charming coffee-cup sign and the beautiful old Gila County Courthouse that serves as an arts center.

Cobre Valley Center for the Arts

In the Italian Renaissance-style structure’s Governor’s Room, there are portraits of two Arizona governors. The center showcases Globe’s visual arts, music, theater arts and quilting. The historic structure, which housed the county courthouse until the 1970s, was rebuilt into the Cobre Valley Center for the Arts, now Globe’s (and Miami’s) focal point for fine arts, music, theater and textiles.

Bravo Americano Moderno

Bravo Americano Moderno in Globe, Arizona, combines various historical culinary techniques to modernize its dishes to create “American dream food,” which includes anything from fish and chips to chicken fettuccine alfredo. The outside terrace of Bravo, which borders Globe’s Broad Street, is a terrific site to take in the city’s sights.
